Solving the Challenges of Sludge Management

The Sludge Problem

Biosolids sludge is a hazardous waste generated from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). Current treatment and disposal practices are complex and expensive, involving dewatering belts and presses, chemicals and thickening polymers.

Tightening Regulations

The disposal of biosolids has a potentially dangerous effect on the environment. Therefore, the EPA and other regulatory agencies are increasing their scrutiny of the most common biosolids disposal practices—landfilling and land application. The wastewater industry needs a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative to sludge handling and disposal!

The AquaLogIQ
Solution

High Efficacy / Low Energy

Our patent-pending, cell lysis technology destructs and dewaters biosolids sludge with tremendous efficacy in a cost-effective and energy-efficient way, and without the use of chemicals, polymers or other carbon-based additives.

Facilitating Waste-to-Product

Because lysis destructs the cells within the biosolids (including disease-causing pathogens within the biosolids), the lysed byproducts can serve as a dewatered carbon source for energy recovery and be utilized in the production of agricultural fertilizer. Additionally, micronutrients released through lysis can be captured and re-used in the water treatment process.
